Welcome back from spring break! We were so lucky to have such a beautiful spring week and I hope everyone enjoyed their time off.
Our kindergarten class are the keepers of the Bobcat once again! Right before vacation we met our goal of 101 Paw Tickets. We have now raised the bar and are new goal is to earn 106 Paw Tickets before the end of the school year. I know we can do it!
This week we will be celebrating Earth Day and learning how we can help take care of our environment. We will also begin a unit on plants.

On February 10th our class celebrated our 100th day of Kindergarten! We had began our count-up on the first day of school!
Our class participated in a variety of activities, including: reading the book "Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the 100th day of Kindergarten," by Joseph Slate, creating a 100th day poster, journaling, and counting to 100 by ones and tens.
Each student brought in a collection of 100 items to share with the class. Check them out:

Hibernation
For the past two weeks, our class has been learning about hibernation. To help us learn, we read books including "The Big Snow," by Berta and Elmer Hader, "Hibernation," by Melvin and Gilda Berger, and "The Hibernation Station," by Michelle Meadows and Kurt Cyrus. In class we pretended to be hibernating bears and drew pictures of what we think bears dream about!
In class we have been watching real hibernating bears at the North American Bear Center's website. Learn interesting facts about North American bears and watch their live cameras here!
Check out our hibernating animals below:

Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2012! Our kindergarten class had a great first day back at school! I was so proud of each of the students for falling right back into our daily routine. While they all said they had a wonderful break, they were ready to learn!
Today we worked as a class to come up with words to describe "Winter." We used the site wordle.net to create a "Word cloud" of our words. Check it out:
